Vegan Parmesan

If you’re vegan or avoiding dairy, you may well be missing cheese and the sprinkling of it over your pasta. This super quick and ridiculously easy vegan alternative gives you both the ‘cheesy’ hit and texture of grated parmesan and is a great little addition to so many dishes. So get blending!
THE INGREDIENTS
Cashews
Cashew nuts have a very unique buttery, sweet and salty taste, making them ideal for use in cooking and baking, and perfect for mimicking cheesiness!
They are a great source of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants, including zinc, phosphorus, copper, selenium and magnesium, making them a health-supporting nutritional powerhouse.
Nutritional Yeast
The secret behind the ‘cheese’ flavour, nutritional yeast is an inactive yeast (the same kind used to bake bread and brew beer) and comes in the form of yellowish flakes, granules or powder. It has a cheesy, nutty flavour and is rich in B vitamins.
It’s a great condiment for adding an extra dimension of flavour (and of course, making things ‘cheesy’) and can simply be sprinkled on your chosen food.

Store in a sealed container in the fridge to maintain optimum freshness and flavour.

VEGAN PARMESAN
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup cashews
- 2 1/2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Pulse all the ingredients together until finely ground and resembling grated parmesan.
